Mariana Mesquita is a legal and policy officer at the Directorate for Energy at the European Commission.
She is currently working at the Buildings and Products Unit in charge of the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive related to the provisions on charging infrastructure and solar deployment in buildings. She has been collaborating with several DG ENER groups including on grids and on electrification.

Previously she was working within the TEAM in charge the Recovery and Resilience Facility and has been involved in the coordination of energy related investments. Prior to that she worked at the Policy Coordination Unit in DG ENER, following several Fit for 55 legislative proposals as well as the Governance Regulation.
While working at the European Parliament, at DG Presidency, at the Directorate for Legislative Acts, she followed the finalization and interinstitutional negotiations of several legislative files in the remit of the Environment and ITRE EP Committees.
She has been working for over 20 years at the European Institutions. Mariana holds a Masters degree from the College of Europe on Advanced European Legal Studies.
