Tim is one of the architects of the ambitious mobility plan of Leuven which had a huge impact on modal shift and upgrade of the public domain. He initiated different EU-projects which focus on new mobility services, data and citizens involvement. Tim is seen as a bridge builder who sees the public involvement as a key stone and his motto "Mobility connects people" is one of his main motivations. For his overall approach in mobility planning he was rewarded as ‘mobility personality of the year’ in Belgium in 2019.
Within the field of electromobility, he developed Leuven's "zero-emission mobility" policy plan and is responsible for the rollout of public charging infrastructure in Leuven. He also shared his vision and insights into the development of tenders for charging infrastructure in Flanders through the consultation structures of MOW, Fluvius, the VVSG (Flemish Cities Association), and the Flemish Cities Knowledge Center. He also closely monitors developments and next steps in the field of electrification of logistics and public transport. Within the European context, he follows future developments in e-mobility through his active role in the POLIS city network, which he chaired for the past two years.
