Born and raised in Brussels, Anaïs Maes lives at 'De Wand' in Laeken. She holds a PhD in history and was a teacher at the GO! Atheneum Etterbeek. She was also a researcher and visiting professor at the History Department of the 'Vrije Universiteit Brussel' (VUB). She was also committed in her school as a trade union delegate of the ACOD.
