Innovative strategies for prioritizing public transport, micro mobility, and CO₂ reduction in urban traffic systems. As cities grow and climate challenges intensify, traditional traffic management must evolve to meet modern needs. This session explores the next generation of agile traffic management systems designed to prioritize public transport and micro mobility while driving significant CO₂ reduction. Cologne: Martin Haerst will speak about Special Traffic Management Application in Cologne: Engine control via geofencing with participation of Ford company. Hamburg: Henning David will address the topic: Vision Livable City – strengthening Eco mobility with C-ITS. Riga: Janis Sprogis will explore Riga Traffic Management 2.0: Leveraging Historical Navigation Data for Future Traffic Planning. This is the first time when Riga city is speaking about this topic publicly. This has not been presented in previously in any other congresses or public events. Zurich: Sara Wellhäußer will speak about their experience with traffic management at the World Cycling Championships 2024. This is the first time when Viassuse is speaking about the experience from the event of Zurich city publicly.
