Minette is a civil engineer based in Cape Town, specialising in Traffic and Transport Engineering. Over the years, her work has expanded to include Transport Planning, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Road Safety, and more recently, a growing focus on the freight sector. She is particularly passionate about freight movement, recognising the unique opportunities Cape Town presents through the Port of Cape Town and the surrounding fruit and wine industries.
Minette is currently contributing to the development of the City’s Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) and the update of the Freight Management Strategy. She is also involved in addressing traffic-related challenges at the Huguenot Tunnel and supporting the development of an electronic truck check system. Her ITS experience includes work on traffic signal systems and the Freeway Management System, aimed at improving efficiency and safety on Cape Town’s road network.
