Ellen Grumert is a research director in traffic safety and traffic system. She has many years of experience in traffic analysis through the implementation of projects aimed at analyzing traffic conditions in real and simulated traffic environments. Previous research has focused on analysis of the traffic system with focus on intelligent transport systems, and especially cooperative intelligent transport systems and connected vehicles, using microscopic traffic simulation. Lately, focus has been on development of evaluation methods using various types of data sources to understand how ITS measures perform in different situation situations on highways and in the cities.
