Dr. Margarita Martínez Díaz is Associate Professor at the School of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). She belongs to the area of Transportation Engineering and Territory (department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) and is a member of the “Barcelona Innovative Transportation” research group. Additionally, she is an associated researcher to the Transportation Systems Engineering research group of the Technical University of Munich as well as a yearly visiting professor at the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal.
Margarita is currently the principal researcher of the Horizon Europe project CulturalRoad on behalf of the UPC, and she was the coordinator of the EIT Academy Program “Women in Urban Mobility”. She is also member of the EU Ambassadors of Diversity in Transportation Network and the Global Alliance of Feminist Transport.
Her key research interests are dynamic traffic management, cooperative driving, human perceptions, attitudes and behaviors linked to mobility, as well as equitable mobility.
