The Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) specifies that by 14 April 2025, operators of publicly accessible recharging points and refuelling points for alternative fuels, or, in accordance with the arrangements between them, the owners of those points, shall ensure the availability of static data and dynamic data concerning alternative fuels infrastructure operated by them, or services inherently linked to such infrastructure that they provide or they outsource, at no cost. In 2025, new Delegated and Implementing Acts on Data under AFIR set further requirements regarding data types, common API as well as format, frequency, and quality of data. There is hence now a basis for a fully open and interoperable data ecosystem that should help stimulate the development of accurate and reliable recharging and refuelling services. In this context, the session aims to discuss those requirements, explore approaches to implementation, including good practice of coordination and the overall link with the implementation of national access points. The session should bring together interested experts from Member States, industry stakeholders and standardisation organisations.
