Xavier Sanyer holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He currently serves as Head of the Mobility Service at the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM), where he has led the drafting of the Mobility Master Plan for the Barcelona Metropolitan Region for the 2020–2025 period and is currently coordinating the development of the new plan for the 2026–2031 period.

In addition, he coordinates the Low Emission Zone management platform for several municipalities in Catalonia; he is also in charge of the drafting mobility reports for new urban developments in the province of Barcelona, and serves as coordinator of the Barcelona Airport Mobility Roundtable, among other responsibilities.
