Gregor Papa is Senior Researcher and Head of Computer Systems Department at the Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Associate Professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, Ljubljana, Slovenia. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2002.
Gregor's research interests include metaheuristic optimization methods and hardware implementations of highly complex algorithms, with a focus on dynamic tuning of algorithm control parameters, applied in the transportation and manufacturing domains. His work has been published in a number of international journals and conference proceedings. He has led and participated in several national and European projects. He is Technical manager of the HE project CONDUCTOR - Advanced, high-level traffic and fleet management. Gregor Papa is a member of the editorial board of the journal Automatika (Taylor & Francis) for the section “Applied Computational Intelligence”. He is a member of the board of the Slovenian Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership for Smart Cities and Communities.
