Irma Rodríguez holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (2003).
After a brief stint at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), she joined GMV in 2005 as a project engineer in the satellite navigation division. In 2013, she was appointed Head of the PPP and Authentication Algorithms section, and a year later, she became Head of the GNSS Algorithms, Products, and Services Division.
Since 2022, Irma has served as Director of Navigation Products & Services of GMV´s Satellite Navigation Systems, overseeing projects focused on advanced positioning services and the development of platforms and infrastructures to deploy and monitor new services. She also leads the commercialization of GMV’s positioning solutions for various applications including autonomous vehicles, space missions, drones, and precision agriculture.
Irma plays a key role in designing and implementing new Galileo services—such as high accuracy, integrity, authentication, and emergency warnings—and manages the deployment and operation of most of the system’s service centers.
She leads a multidisciplinary team of around 150 professionals across several countries, driving the evolution of strategic positioning technologies through R&D in navigation algorithms and future services.
Irma also actively supports initiatives that promote youth and female talent in STEAM fields and helps spread space-related knowledge to younger generations.
