With continuously growing economies, the usage of personal vehicles are projected to be even higher by 2030 in most cities around the world. The 2Zero Partnership highlights urban mobility sustainability via its vision towards accelerating the development of zero tailpipe-emission road transport in Europe by creating a climate-neutral and clean road transport system by 2050, introducing some advantages of fleet electrification of integrated mobility solutions, and offer a promising solution to help not only for emission reduction, but also in improving air quality , liveability and environmental sustainability. This topic aligns with and shares the same perspective as various ongoing European initiatives and global programs, such as the 2ZERO Partnership, UNEP Electric Mobility Programme, and other worldwide efforts. It focuses on advancing the development and deployment of technologies to enhance urban mobility sustainability and safety, including visions on vulnerable road users (VRUs), car-sharing models, and active modes of transport. By providing an in-depth overview of these efforts, the session will explore firstly, the current trends of fleet electrification in optimizing urban sustainability, improving traffic management, and contributing to integrated mobility systems. Secondly, it will also address the future of shared mobility services with electrification of fleets in improving city liveability, enhancing active mobility, and possibilities of using ultra compact vehicles for car sharing and logistics supplies, including different business models that shows its advantages towards improving sustainable urban mobility.
