Join us for an engaging session organized by the MegaBITS and MERIDIAN projects to introduce the European Roadmap for Smart Cycling. This roadmap highlights the pivotal role of smart cycling in driving sustainable and intelligent mobility across Europe. The session will open with a roadmap overview presented by Stephanie Kleine from the Ministry for Environment, Nature, and Transport (North-Rhine Westphalia). Key priorities, strategies, and actionable recommendations will be outlined to promote smart cycling solutions. Following this, panelists from DG Move, Hamburg, Salzburg Research, Hermes Traffic Intelligence, and Google will share their insights about the roadmap, discuss challenges and opportunities in scaling smart cycling initiatives, and provide examples of successful implementations. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly through questions and comments, making this an interactive and collaborative exchange. The event will conclude with a summary of key takeaways and a forward-looking perspective on the next steps for implementing smart cycling strategies informed by the panel discussion.
